Bronze Sculpture Series, 2025

Rupture & Resolve examines how bodily and structural systems continue to function when damage is permanent. Drawing from forms associated with the spine without reproducing it directly, the sculptures operate as compressed, load-bearing structures shaped by pressure, interruption, and adaptation.

The series is informed by lived experience with chronic pain, but the works do not function as representations of the body. Instead, they model systems that remain active under sustained and uneven stress—bulging, bracing, and reorganizing rather than returning to an original state. Protrusions, voids, and offsets act as structural responses rather than symbols.

Cast in bronze, a material transformed through heat and force, the sculptures reflect processes of endurance rather than recovery. What emerges is not a narrative of repair, but a set of objects that continue to stand despite compromised conditions. Rupture & Resolve considers resilience as a physical negotiation: not the absence of pain, but the ability to remain functional within it.
