What Remains examines the traces that injury and endurance leave behind. This cast aluminum form draws from the structure of fused vertebrae—bones that have adapted under pressure, growing together in order to keep the body upright. The surface carries the marks of the casting process, preserving every fracture line, pour trace, and decision made while the metal was still molten.

Unlike other works in this series that include twisted steel bindings, this piece stands alone. The absence of external restraint highlights how the body sometimes creates its own support, compensating quietly and permanently. The result is a form that appears both vulnerable and strong, altered yet still holding its shape.

Through this sculpture, I reflect on what healing actually looks like: not a return to what was, but the emergence of a new structure built from persistence, adaptation, and survival.
