From Pixels to Iron

Yesterday marked an incredible milestone for my From Pixels to Iron project. I was able to pour two images into cast iron, and I am thrilled to share them with you here (see pictures below).

This project has been a fascinating journey that began with brainstorming and refining ideas with the help of AI. Those digital designs evolved into physical, tangible art through 3D modeling and traditional casting methods. Seeing these pieces in their cast iron form feels like the beginning of something significant.

I aim to replicate this process at least two more times, resulting in six images. From there, I plan to select three pieces to cast in bronze, exploring the interplay between material, texture, and narrative. Each step of this process—designing, pouring, or finishing—reminds me of the creative potential of combining digital tools with traditional craft.

These first pours are a testament to the vision I’ve been developing and the endless possibilities of this process. I look forward to sharing more of this journey as it unfolds and hope you’ll follow along as I push the boundaries of what From Pixels to Iron can become.
